The two stars perform in Hungary on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of six- number lottery, with Punnany Massif as the opening act.
The British and the Jamaican-American singer arrives in Hungary as part of a tour to promote the album 44/876. One of the songs from this album is the videoclip "Gotta Get Back My Baby", in which Sting and Shaggy drive around in a Fiat 124 Spider Abarth in the style of Miami Vice and Bad Boys.
No a garbage, but prepared, humble joy music will be on stage, and the audience may have had a wet fiesta at Sting and Shaggy's free concert in Budapest. Rainy weather is predicted for the day, but that shouldn't stop anyone who WANTS TO HAVE JOY!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
SHAGGY
Orville Richard Burrell CD (born 22. October 1968), better known as Shaggy, is a
Jamaican-American reggae singer who has scored hits with "It Wasn't Me",
"Boombastic", "In", "The Summertime", "Oh Carolina" and "Angel". He has been
nominated for seven Grammy Awards, winning twice in 1996 for Best Reggae Album
with Boombastic and in 2019 with Sting for 44/876, and in 2002 he won the
International Male Solo Artist Brit Award.
In 2007, he was awarded the Order of Jamaica with the rank of Commander. In 2022,
he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from Brown University.
Shaggy launched his charity project Shaggy and Friends in 2016, donating over $1
million to the Bustamante Children's Hospital in Jamaica. In addition to providing
financial support to the hospital, he also donated hospital equipment and machinery.
He has also produced his first Caribbean collaboration, "Can't Let my Love Go",
which he performed with the "Queen of Soca" Alison Hinds of Barbados.
STING
Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, CBE, better known as Sting (Wallsend, 2 October
1951 -) is an English musician, singer-songwriter, activist, and actor.
He has been nominated for an Academy Award and has won sixteen Grammy
Awards. Until the start of his solo career, he was the principal songwriter, lead singer
and bassist for the band The Police. As a solo singer and lead singer of The Police,
he has sold over 100 million records.
