DREAM THEATRE CONCERT
VENUE: BUDAPEST, PAPP LÁSZLÓ SPORTS ARENA
DATE: 08. 02. 2020.
In the following year, Dream Theater, the world-famous American progressive metal band, comes to Hungary for the twelfth time - with their album release tour Distance Over Time, produced earlier this year. They presented the 2019 album Distance Over Time to the audience and celebrated the twentieth anniversary of Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory.
The European tour covers the songs from the new album, as well as the biggest hits of the past years.
At the concert, there will be a separate area inside the Arena (VIP package) where you can meet the band and take a photo with Dream Theather.
The prog-rock group (James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung) which has been nominated twice for Grammy Awards and sold some 15 million records, is known for its outstanding technical skills, multi-track song structures and powerful live performances.
Fun fact about them:
During the epidemic restrictions, Dream Theater assembled their new album at their headquarters. They were in the middle of a sold-out world
tour when a global pandemic brought the world to a standstill. The musicians found
themselves at home, LaBrie in Canada and the rest of the band in the United States.
It must have been their lot, that they had just completed construction of DTHQ
(Dream Theatre Headquarters) - a live recording studio, rehearsal space, control
room, equipment storage and creative room. LaBrie in Canada and initially recorded
with the band via ZOOM on the DTHQ monitor. In March 2021, he flew to New York,
quarantined, and recorded his vocals in private with Petrucci. The album ended up
melding lean and uncompromising hooks with well-established technical skills.
Duties: complete construction
