STOMP, the British music group, is coming to Budapest again with several unique performances and a new programme!
A dance performance brought to life by the 12-member group using everyday objects such as rubbish cans, brooms, kitchen sponges, lighters, matches, boxes, and chairs.
STOMP has been astonishing audiences around the world for over 25 years, combining elements of comedy, dance, and rhythm. Their energy and adrenaline flow, make their performances more than just a one-off. As a testament to their unique artistry, they have had guests such superstars as Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Steven Spielberg and Michael Jackson.
Interesting facts about the group:
- They've been touring the world for over 25 years, with over 20,000 performances and 12 million people amazed!
- The founding members of STOMP (Luke Creswell and Steve McNicholas) started their career in a band called Pookiesnackenburger in the 80s. Luke played vocals and guitar and Steve played percussion.
- During their performances so far, the group has used up 50,000 cans of matches, 30,000 brooms, 20,000 dustbins, 10,000 drumsticks and 25,000 litres of black paint, among other things.
- STOMP has also appeared in several commercials, the most famous ones are a British Heineken and an international Coca-Cola commercial.
- Several members of the group have been discovered in talent contests.
- The biggest STOMP performance was at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, with 40 performers from 14 different countries.
